Start Adds Partners to Wholesale Strategy

[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] In a move to expand its revenue
base, online community Start.com.au
has signed financial information site HotCopper and membership and prize
site eClubOz as wholesale partners.

Under the partnership, both sites integrate Start’s communication tools,
which include free e-mail, chat, instant messaging and personal organizer,
into their pages and customize the features to reflect their individual
look and feel.

While Start has more than 350,000 members of its service that offer the
same tools, company chief executive officer Max Monanaro said that the
wholesale business is core to its business model.

“Start’s ‘create once, sell many times’ approach for the wholesale
distribution of our products enables the company to accelerate revenue
growth and flatten costs simultaneously,” he said.

Start already contains more than 300 sites, including News Corporation, Solution 6, music site Sanity and portal Looksmart Australia.

The tools are designed to increase potentially become more loyal to
these partners’ services. Both eClubOz and HotCopper are seeking these
kinds of gains from the tools, according to the companies’ respective
representatives.
