[Toronto, CANADA] Stratos Global
Corporation
has made a strategic investment in Telesis North.

Telesis is a developer of wireless connectivity software that
significantly improves the throughput and reliability of wireless
Internet Protocol (IP) communications.

Stratos is an international telecom service provider offering
customers
operating in remote locations a variety of wireless, IP, data, and
voice
solutions through a range of technologies.

It serves diverse markets including government, military, industrial,
recreational, and maritime users worldwide.

“This investment is the beginning of a long-term relationship where
both companies will work together to provide enhanced data
communications services for ‘business-critical’ operations,” said
John Ciardullo, executive vice-president of Corporate Development
with Stratos.

He said that the investment also allows Stratos to participate in the
broader, mass market opportunity that Telesis is targeting.”

Tests conducted by Stratos’ inhouse engineering department showed that
Telesis’ OnAir Mobile product for Microsoft Exchange dramatically
increases data throughput over all wireless networks, resulting in as
much as 90 percent airtime savings for the customer.

Based on the success of the testing, Stratos intends to distribute
OnAir Mobile and host an OnAir.Net wireless email service for
Exchange users.

The OnAir.Net service will complement Stratos’ existing wireless Web
service, StratosNet.
