[Malaysia] TA Securities Berhad has launched its Dealer Representatives Electronic Services System (@drESS) to enable its 500 brokers and dealers to serve their customers better.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed in Kuala Lumpur last Thursday to formalize the partnership between TA and Patimas Computers Bhd.
Under phase one of the project, the company had invested an initial RM2 million (US$0.53 million) to establish the infrastructure that runs on IBM’s AS/400 servers and Lotus’s domino applications as well as Quickplace.
According to TA Securities’ executive director Yaw Chun Soon, the system is designed to provide brokers and dealers an effective communication tool to better serve their clients and to stay in touch electronically.
@drESS provides access to real-time stock quotes and other online trading products via TA’s own Internet-based electronic stocks information system.
The system also enables trading reports to be dispatched to the client’s via e-mail at the end of the daily processing.
Brokers and dealers can also obtain in-depth, online research publications from the in-house research department, share ideas and information with one another via forums and discussions.
Patimas’s executive director Daniel Tan said under phase two and phase three of the project, @drESS will be enhanced with more features such as staff and investor community.
“The partnership will rollout various other electronic services systems (ESS) that will transform TA from being a leading traditional broker to the status of being a premier e-broker in Malaysia,” he added.
