[Toronto, CANADA] – Maxxcom Inc.
acquired TargetCom, a direct and
relationship marketing agency, and its two business units, bang!zoom,
and etelligence.

Beverley Morden, president and chief executive officer of Maxxcom, said
that acquisition of Chicago-based TargetCom follows Maxxcom’s purchase
of Accent Marketing
Services
, in the direct marketing segment.

TargetCom established its two separate divisions two years ago, in
response to client demand. Clients of the combined entities include
Chicago Tribune, 3Com, Lucent, Pier 1, and Sears.

Jay Miller, TargetCom founder and chief executive officer added, “Our
affiliation with Maxxcom will enable us to deliver expanded services to
our own clients; in turn, we can provide our expertise to other Maxxcom
partners and their clients. Moreover, Maxxcom’s Perpetual
Partnership model was particularly attractive to us because we
retain a strong, vested interest in the growth and success of our
company.”

Senior Vice President and Managing Director Nora Ligurotis will continue
to manage day-to-day operations of TargetCom’s Chicago and Dallas
offices.

Patrick Condon, president of etelligence, the Chicago and St.
Louis-based agency dedicated to relationship marketing via the Internet,
and Patrick Buchanan, president of bang!zoom, the San Francisco and
London-based technology and dot-com focused agency, will continue in
their roles.

Maxxcom is a subsidiary of MDC Corporation, a multi-national business
services company with operating units in Canada and the U.S.
