Telinco, Severn Trent Team Up to Offer Discounts to Employees

Oct 26, 1998

UK telecom company Telinco has teamed with water utility Severn Trent Plc to offer low-cost telephone calls and free
Internet access to Severn Trent’s 13,000 UK employees and
pensioners.

Users will also get a free phone number, discounted national
and international calls, voicemail and a personal number.

“A key part of our business development strategy is focused on developing new and
innovative routes to market with major corporations such as Severn
Trent Plc,” said Simon Preston, marketing director of Telinco. “This offer is an excellent solution with benefits to all parties.”

“Severn Trent staff get a better deal on a full range of telephone and
Internet services and we have the opportunity to develop a new market.
I believe this deal is the first of many as it offers unrivalled value for
money.”

The Severn Trent Home Connect initiative has now started and is
available to all employees of Severn Trent Plc and its UK subsidiaries.
Telinco says that if all the services in the packages were purchased
separately from reputable providers, the connection fee would be
(UK)73.37 and the average monthly fee (excluding call charges) 23.44.

Telinco offers services to many other home users, from low-cost
telecommunications to value-added solutions.
