Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch Thursday bought the One & Only Network, bringing another online dating site and more auction services into its growing network of online properties.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed
The combined services of One & Only Network and recently acquired Match.Com will make TMCS the leading provider of online matchmaking services. Match.Com and One & Only together have registered more than 3 million users.
Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch expects the move to accelerate its goal of providing the most practical local and regional Internet service resources available.
“This combination brings together Match.Com’s leading brand and technology with One & Only’s large database and powerful affiliate program,” said Charles Conn, Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch chief executive officer. “Building romantic relationships or interest-based friendships is a fundamentally local activity. It works better on the Internet, and it helps us serve our consumer base more effectively.”
One & Only Network’s member affiliate program includes more than 110,000 Web sites that direct consumers to the network’s classified sites, including personals at One & Only and auctions at uTrade.
The TMCS network of Web sites includes CitySearch,
www.ticketmaster.com”>Ticketmaster, City Auction, Match.Com, and Live Daily.
The transaction is expected to close this summer.
