UKWebs Adds WebNow to Perl Script Library

British software company UKWebs added to its perl script library WebNow, a tool for Web administrators designed to deliver Web pages to visitors in a protected environment.

The new script joins others such as
EditNow, a fully interactive browser-based Web page editor for online use.
All the UKWebs products run on both Unix and Windows platforms and
are aimed primarily at ISPs.

Among the features of WebNow are full administration via a Web interface;
an automated environment for directory and page creation; a form-based
system that allows users to complete a profile form and receive their
passwords by various means; “Create Page” templates and an alphabetical
listing of all users’ Webs.

“Forget fiddly scripts that require you to understand the operating system,” said Jonathan Michaelson of UKWebs. “WebNow features an automated
environment. Forget those restrictive form-based editors, or those that still
require knowledge of HTML. EditNow allows you to insert Web page
elements where you want them.”

Web pages created with WebNow can be viewed on WebTV and any
screen from 640 x 480 upwards. The software offers context-sensitive help
for both users and administrators.

WebNow costs $199 for a single server/domain license. Other licenses are
available for multiple domains, including $399 for 6 installations. Unlimited use
costs $599.
