Vavo.com has announced
that it will become the official channel for seniors on
Lycos.co.uk.

“Lycos is committed to providing a wide range of services for the 11 million
people in the UK and Ireland who have access to the Internet,” said
Charles Walker, managing director of Lycos UK & Ireland.

“Our partnership with Vavo.com is key to broadening our reach to
an audience previously overlooked by other Internet offerings.”

Just two months old, Vavo.com has been created by its
2,000 pre-registered members. It is a sponsor of Research into
Ageing and is part-sponsor of entrants in the over 45s category
of the British Surfing Association National Championships.

“As the first service of its kind in Europe, Vavo.com is a strong
proposition for Lycos.co.uks over-45 visitors,” said
Richard Spinks, founder and managing director of Vavo.com.

“The over 45s are one of the fastest growing segments of the online
population and over 56 per cent said they felt the Internet
was narrowing the generation gap.”

Visitors to Lycos.co.uk will now be able to access specialised
information and services for people over 45, the content being based
directly on the interests and life experiences of Vavo.com members.
