Verio Inc. and AOL UK, part of AOL Europe,
signed an exclusive marketing agreement for Web-hosting, e-commerce and
domain name registration services.
The new pact builds upon Verio’s exclusive agreement with America Online in
the United States, and targets AOL UK’s and CompuServe UK’s combined one
million subscribers in the United Kingdom.
Verio will promote its services with an online media campaign on the AOL UK
and CompuServe UK services. The media campaign, consisting of extensive
static button and banner advertisements, guarantees Verio millions of
impressions over the course of the contract. Spending was not disclosed.
Subscribers will be directed to a Verio UK Web site. AOL UK and CompuServe
UK members may access the site directly by entering Keyword: Verio, and Go: Verio, respectively.
