In continued pursuit of the European market, Web hosting company Verio Inc. Wednesday inked an e-commerce agreement with leading Italian telecommunications firm Infostrada.
Infostrada and Verio (VRIO) will offer co-branded Web hosting and e-commerce services to Italian businesses, as part of an effort to bolster Verio’s overseas market expansion and to broaden Infostrada’s portfolio of Internet services.
“This agreement with Infostrada underscores Verio’s intent to continue its aggressive push into overseas expansion, and should dramatically increase our growing presence in Europe,” said Doug Schneider,
president of Verio’s Web Services division.
Infostrada, which was acquired by global media mogul Mannesmann from Italian telco Olivetti in June, boasts 2 million voice and 680,000 Internet customers.
Verio’s deal with Infostrada follows last month’s announcement of a similar co-branding deal with leading Japanese telco NTT.
