Online conferencing specialist WebEx Communications has bought the assets of Presenter, a maker of software enabling users to record, edit and replay voice, video and data presentations.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal includes all of Presenter’s technology and patents as well as customer and reseller agreements. Presenter’s iPresentation Suite software is used by businesses, government agencies and higher education institutions.

Nine of the 10 Presenter employees have also joined WebEx, including CEO Eric Chen, who founded the company in 1998. Both companies are based in San Jose, Calif.

Services based on Presenter’s technology are available immediately and will be integrated into future WebEx offerings.

The move comes as WebEx is working to get its products before more users. For example, last month it announced a partnership with Yahoo! to integrate access to WebEx Meeting Center into Yahoo! Messenger Enterprise Edition.
