Politics.com Inc. signed an exclusive advertising rep agreement with 24/7 Media Inc.
Under the agreement, 24/7 Media will be the exclusive seller of advertising
on Politics.com’s Web site, which 24/7 will
incorporate into its network of more than 300 high-profile sites that
penetrates more than 20 countries and produces in excess of 2.5 billion ad
impressions per month.
“Joining 24/7 Media’s international network reflects the exciting reception
Politics.com is receiving from Internet users in search of political news,
opinion and entertainment,” said Marc Jacobson, president of Politics.com.
“We think this relationship has the potential to generate new revenue
opportunities for Politics.com.”
24/7 Media will sell advertising on a site-specific basis, as well as through
multi-site packages and the 24/7 Network package.
“Politics.com offers 24/7 Media an opportunity to gain more exposure among a
rapidly growing number of politically-inclined Internet users,” said Jay
Friesel, executive vice president of sales and marketing at 24/7 Media.
“This growth should escalate as we approach Election 2000, when the number of
voters turning to the Internet for news and information is predicted to reach
significant proportions.”
Earlier this year, 24/7 Media announced the opening of an office in
Washington D.C. to focus on the market for online advertising created by the
presidential and congressional races, and a rising level of issue advertising.
Politics.com was launched in 1999 and plans to offer a branded network of
information, communication and entertainment, all with politics as a common
theme.
The company also owns www.politicaljunkie.com and www.elections.com.
