3Dfx Interactive Signs a Slew of Marketing Agencies

3Dfx Interactive Inc.in San Jose, CA said it signed with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners advertising, Porter Novelli public relations,Copithorne & Bellows public relations, and Red Sky Interactive for branding in the U.S.


In Europe, the company selected Text 100 public relations and Bastion marketing communications. Billings were not disclosed.


3Dfx markets 3D graphic accelerators, provides game
developer support and offers a compatible software library, targeting
consumers, game enthusiasts, hardware manufacturers and retailers.


“Assembling this remarkable marketing team demonstrates 3Dfx’s steadfast
commitment to building consumer awareness of the 3D graphics category by
highlighting our technological leadership through an aggressive brand
development campaign,” said Alan Chaplin, senior vice president of marketing
and sales at 3Dfx Interactive. “Moving forward, the primary goal of our
marketing efforts will be to drive home the message that 3Dfx-based products
deliver the ultimate PC entertainment experience.”


The company said that Goodby, Silverstein will lead the effort to build 3Dfx brand equity. The
complementary consumer public relations effort will be led by Porter Novelli.


Red Sky Interactive is a design, engineering and production company well known for its interactive and
creative work..


Text 100 provides business to business,
consumer, corporate, trade and technology PR on a national and international
basis, and will support 3Dfx’s public relations requirements for the European
market.


Bastion is a London-based marketing communications company specializing in
youth entertainment and interactive entertainment products.


3Dfx Interactive develops high performance 3D media processors, software and
related technology that are designed to enable a highly immersive, interactive
and realistic 3D experience across interactive electronic entertainment
systems–personal computers, coin-operated arcade game machines and
location-based entertainment installations, such as racing car simulators.
