Advertising.com pushed its way into the wireless marketplace Wednesday with the release of a new technology that delivers targeted advertising to WAP-enabled devices.
The ad delivery technology serves ads as text links, banners or interstitials that pop up for two three seconds as users navigate from page to page.
Beyond Interactive Inc., a global interactive marketing agency, worked with Advertising.com to beta test the WAP ad serving network capabilities. Beyond is now using the technology to deploy ads operating on the WAP standard.
“Our innovative new media marketing and WAP technology solutions for wireless advertisers, combined with the global increase in usage of WAP-enabled devices, will provide very promising opportunities for Advertising.com and Beyond Interactive customers,” said John Ferber, co-founder and chief internet officer of Advertising.com.
Matthew Day, vice president of Client Services for Beyond Interactive, added that Advertising.com’s WAP ad delivery technology has been key in the creation of Beyond’s wireless division.
