AGENCY.COM and Razorfish are preparing for separate initial public offerings,
and “both could be filing within the next month,” according to a Silicon Alley Reporter story.
AGENCY.COM CEO Chan Suh would not comment and Razorfish CEO Jeff Dachis said that the company has no current plans. One source close to Razorfish reported, however,
that it may file before the end of this week, according to the report.
Razorfish was founded by Jeff Dachis and
Craig Kanarick in 1995. The firm has made a number of acquisitions over the past two years including
Avalanche Systems in New York, London-based CHBI, San Francisco-based
Plastic, Los Angeles-based <tag> media, and Spray Network in Stockholm. The firm
reportedly has more than 350 employees and expects about $72 million in
revenue in 1999.
AGENCY.COM was founded by Chan Suh and Kyle
Shannon in 1995. Its acquisitions over the past three years include the
Primary Group, Spiral Media, Interactive Solutions, Eagle River Interactive
and Online Magic. The firm has grown to over 600 employees.
Both firms received investments from Omnicom in 1996.
