Comet Systems and Yahoo! launched a Father’s Day promotion
featuring the Comet Cursor, which allows a Web site to replace the standard
arrow cursor with any image or animation.

In this interactive promotion, the cursor will help Yahoo! users find gifts
for dad for Father’s Day. Spending details on the promo were not disclosed.

Through June 20, users who click on the Father’s Day banners displayed on the
Yahoo! home page will be brought to pages sponsored by Hammacher-Schlemmer,
Fingerhut, Beauty Buys or Chipshot. On these pages, users will experience
themed cursors and Cursor ads made possible by Comet Systems’ technology.

Each Father’s Day page is based on a theme corresponding to the sponsor: a
golf course for chipshot.com, a garage for Fingerhut, a backyard for Hammacher-Schlemmer,
and a bathroom for Beautybuys.

Comet said that more than 5 million Web surfers have installed the Comet
Cursor into their Web browsers. Consumers who have not yet installed the software will be
offered the 10-second download immediately upon arrival at the Father’s Day
promotion.

“Our goal with holiday promotions is to create compelling content for our
users and also cutting edge sponsorship opportunities for our advertisers,”
said Bill Miltenberger, sales promotion director at Yahoo!. “The Comet Cursor
is an ideal way to accomplish both goals.”
