Computer Seller to Advertise With Hotmail

American General Ventures Inc in Colorado Springs signed an advertising agreement to market its computer products through Microsoft’s Hotmail, which now claims to be the world’s largest Internet e-mail provider.

Hotmail, a provider of free, ad- backed e-mail, says it has 12 million active
accounts. Spending by American General was not disclosed.

American General Ventures markets branded multimedia computer systems directly to consumers from a newly revamped Web site. Avail is the name of the company’s principal line of home and small business computer systems.

The company said it believes that a large portion of Hotmail’s users are
potential Avail computer purchasers and will represent a significant
opportunity to add new revenues.
