Incentive marketer Cybergold Inc. signed a distribution agreement with America Online
for its AOL Instant Messenger service, which allows communication across both
AOL and the Internet.
Under the agreement, Cybergold members will earn a cash reward for using AOL
Instant Messenger, after downloading, installing and sending messages with
AIM. Financial terms of the deal with AOL were not disclosed.
“For our nearly one million Cybergold members, as well as for all Internet
users, this partnership represents a great way to earn cash online and access
a great communications tool–AIM,” said Nat Goldhaber, Cybergold CEO.
“AOL Instant Messenger is the easiest, most convenient way for Internet users
to instantly communicate, both with other Web users and with AOL members,”
said Jan Brandt, AOL’s president of marketing. “Through our agreement with
Cybergold, we can bring AOL Instant Messenger to its member base, enabling
them to instantly interact with the over 35 million users in AOL’s Buddy List
network.”
The AOL Instant Messenger service combines AOL’s popular Buddy List and
Instant Message features to let Internet users send and respond to private,
personalized text messages instantly and know immediately when friends are
online anywhere on the
Internet.
