eCommercial.com Inc. said it has closed
on a $10.5 million private placement from a group of investors led by the
Internet and technology investment subsidiary of Onex Corp.

Onex will provide growth expertise, a strong presence in the Wall Street
community, and direction to create new market opportunities, eCommercial
said.

“eCommercial.com has a strong management team, leading technology and a clear
vision to capitalize on the multi-billion dollar online direct marketing
industry,” said John G. Troiano, a principal at Onex.

eCommercial.com claims to be “the only company capable of producing
trackable, browser-like interactive e-mail attachments that feature video,
audio, graphics, animation and hypertext links within a single
ultra-compressed file, which is browser independent and requires no plug-in.”

eCommercial.com said it would use the funding to pursue target market
segments, including the telecommunications, financial services, insurance,
pharmaceutical, technology and entertainment industries.

“This (investment) validates eCommercial.com’s convergence of traditional
direct marketing methodologies with engaging multimedia capabilities over the
Internet,” said Tom Blakeley, president and CEO of eCommercial.com, whose
clients include Autobytel.com, MCA Records, Stan Lee Media, various music artists and the
Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation.
