Egghead.com Joins DoubleClick’s Select Network

Online software retailer Egghead.com Inc. signed a deal with DoubleClick Inc. to become a member of
DoubleClick’s new Select Network of premium sites.


“Technology continues to be the largest category of online advertising,”
said Kevin Ryan, president and COO of DoubleClick. “Egghead is an important
addition to DoubleClick as it further extends our reach in this specialized
category and provides advertisers with viable content for effectively
targeting technology consumers.”


The newly designed Egghead Web site offers four separate buying venues for
advertisers, including virtual superstores and auctions consisting of Egghead
Computer, Egghead Software, Egghead SurplusDirect Liquidation Center and
Egghead Auctions.


“We have an opportunity to increase revenues from advertising,” said George
Orban, chairman and CEO of Egghead. “The DoubleClick Network provides the
ideal turn-key solution, allowing us to leverage our extensive reach and
visitor traffic while we focus our efforts on building our e-commerce customer
base.”


DoubleClick Tech, the technology category of sites on the DoubleClick
Network, includes Macromedia, The Dilbert Zone, Diamond Multimedia, Platinum
Technology’s CosmoSoftware, WITI (Women in Technology), numerous international
technology sites, and now Egghead.
