Voice-over-IP telephony player Dialpad.com
Inc.
on Thursday tapped Engage
Inc.
‘s to serve ads using Engage AdManager for its
free advertising-supported service.

The banner ads, which are targeted by using demographic information users
enter when they sign up, appear on a pop-up window that’s in front of users
whenever they are using the service. The company says sessions last for 18
minutes on average.

“The powerful combination of Engage’s targeted ad server platform and our
active and expanding base of Dialpad users allows us to work more closely
with leading online marketers to attract new campaigns that take advantage
of this effective new advertising medium,” said Peter Hewitt, vice
president of communications for Dialpad.

According to Nielsen/NetRatings April 2000 numbers, Dialpad had 47.8
million page views from 1.47 million unique visitors. The service gives
users the ability to call any US phone number and talk as long as they like
for free.
