TRUSTe, which runs a well-known global privacy seal program, has made four additions to its board of directors, including two from the online marketing world. The new directors are Joseph Alhadeff, VP of global public policy for Oracle Corporation ; Hans Peter Brondmo, senior VP of strategy and corporate development for Digital Impact; Peter Cullen, chief privacy strategist for Microsoft
; and Bennie Smith, chief privacy officer for DoubleClick
.
“These four individuals reflect not only the depth and quality of our board, but also the diverse backgrounds needed to battle emerging privacy issues,” said Fran Maier, executive director and president of TRUSTe.
Forbes.com named John Brady regional sales manager, responsible for accounts in Manhattan, as well as Westchester and Fairfield Counties in the tri-state area. He reports to Richard Kosinski, East Coast sales director.
John was most recently senior sales manager at Quicken.com, where he launched their bank and brokerage sales channel. He was sales manager at Law.com (part of American Lawyer Media) from 1996 to 1998, and was also a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch & Co.
“John brings a wealth of successful online advertising, sales and account management experience to Forbes.com,” said Bill Flatley, chief advertising officer for Forbes.com.
Modem Media has tapped Jonathan Adams as media director. Adams was most recently senior partner and group media director of WPP’s mOne, the joint interactive media arm of OgilvyOne Worldwide and MindShare Worldwide. While there, he founded the Digital Media Consultancy, an in-house consulting practice devoted to building client partnerships and alliances while improving operational performance. Prior to his seven years with mOne, Jonathan acquired worked for traditional agencies Lowe & Partners and The Media Edge.
In his new role, Jonathan will assume media management responsibilities for Modem Media’s Delta Air Lines account, as well as certain duties within the senior leadership of the media services department.
Starcom IP has designated DoubleClick its preferred rich media provider, and will use the ad technology company’s DART Motif product for the management of rich media campaigns. Starcom was among the companies DoubleClick designated to test the beta version of Motif, and has apparently now switched over to the ranks of full-fledged customers.
“We’re excited by this product’s potential to save Starcom clients time and resources when executing rich media campaigns,” said Brandon Wolf, associate manager for Starcom IP.
E-mail marketing firm Silverpop named Elaine O’Gorman as VP of strategy. O’Gorman most recently worked at American Airlines where she oversaw content for its Web site, AA.com, and e-mail marketing initiatives. She also shaped the airline’s strategy for e-mail communications to a subscription base of approximately 6 million customers. She also worked for Kraft Foods.
PointRoll has named James O’Brien as director of marketing, a newly created post. O’Brien was most recently president and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, an integrated marketing and political consulting agency based in Washington, D.C. He has worked on 166 political and issue campaigns and 35 corporate communication campaigns. Mark Naples, managing partner of WIT Strategy, has until now handled outreach for PointRoll on a contract basis. Naples referred O’Brien to the post.
