Execs and Accounts for August 23, 2002

Rapp Digital Founder and Vice Chairman J.G. Sandom has reportedly stepped down to pursue other opportunities, according to Adweek. Sandom was one of the very first players in the interactive marketing space, founding the nation’s first digital marketing services company, Einstein and Sandom Interactive, in 1984. He went on to run OgilvyInteractive before founding RappDigital.

Sandom is said to be continuing with the company in a consulting capacity.

Be Free, a subsidiary of ValueClick, picked up several clients during the second quarter of 2002. Among the list of offline and online marketers that have chosen Be Free’s BFAST affiliate and partner marketing services are Travelocity Canada, TV Shopping Network HSN, and TransUnion.

Bite Communications will manage the public relations for New York-based Etagon, which has launched a new database appliance server. Bite will run the campaign out of its San Francisco office. Rony Zarom, chief executive officer of Etagon, said he chose Bite because he wanted an agency that could drive the PR effort, not just provide tactical implementation.
