Online lead generation firm Aptimus has appointed Eric Helgeland to its board of directors. Helgeland is a project manager for Treasury Strategies, where he provides marketing, business development, and consulting services to large and small clients. Before that, he was VP of marketing for Fingerhut Corporation, responsible for managing and directing new customer acquisition and marketing efforts.

Helgeland has worked with Aptimus before. He was a financial advisor to the online lead generation firm on its 2001 tender offer to shareholders.

Aptimus President and CEO Tim Choate said, “Not only has Eric been a valuable friend and supporter of the company for several years, but his broad experience in direct marketing and deal structuring will be invaluable as the company continues to scale.”

NIA Creative, a brand consulting and strategic design firm, has picked up five high-tech clients, including Hitachi Data Systems, Keynote Systems, Nuasis, SanDisk and Vividence. The range of services NIA will offer the technology companies includes branding, design, advertising, PR and event marketing.

“We needed to communicate the value of our eXpress product to the market and turned to NIA to help us with marketing strategy and execution,” said Jill Kyte, VP of marketing and business development for Vividence. “NIA developed product positioning statements and a multimedia demo of Vividence eXpress that will enable us to more effectively sell our product to a broad target audience.”

Public relations and marketing firm TechMarcom has been tapped as U.S. agency of record for Namo Interactive, a South Korean builder of Web software. To begin the relationship, TechMarcom will handle the launch of WebEditor5.5, the Seoul-based company’s flagship Web authoring tool. Namo is TechMarcom’s third account win this fall. The others are wireless electricity provider MobileWise and managed security provider QinetiQ Trusted Information Management.
