GeoCities Taps Y&R for $15 Million Campaign

Young & Rubicam Inc. won a $15 million to $20
million marketing assignment from GeoCities.


The Young & Rubicam companies that will work on behalf of GeoCities are Y&R
Advertising (for consumer advertising research); Wunderman Cato Johnson (for
advertising and relationship marketing); Landor (for corporate design); The
Media Edge (for media research, planning and placement); and Brand Dialogue
(for a range of interactive services).


“Y&R is able to deliver a custom agency approach that will address our needs
and will work with us on all facets of our marketing efforts,” said Thomas
R. Evans, president and chief executive officer of GeoCities. “From strategy
development to consumer advertising to design, Y&R will provide us with a
multi-layered approach that will help us effectively deliver all the
possibilities of our brand to consumers.”
