Hallmark Cards Inc. said it is working
with Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/EURO
RSCG
on a “major new strategic initiative” that will provide opportunities
for Hallmark to leverage its brand across current and new businesses.
Specifics and billings were not disclosed, however.

Hallmark is known for its greeting cards, related personal
expression products, and television’s enduring dramatic series, the Hallmark
Hall of Fame. The company’s Hallmark Entertainment Inc. subsidiary is a
television programmer its Binney & Smith subsidiary, maker of Crayola
crayons, is a producer of student and professional art materials.

Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/EURO RSCG clients
include Evian, Intel, Glaxo Wellcome, International Paper, J.P. Morgan, MCI
WorldCom, Nasdaq, Nestle Frozen Foods, New Balance, OppenheimerFunds, Philips
Electronics, Schering-Plough, Searle, Universal Studios and Volvo.
