Management Changes at Netcentives
San Francisco-based e-mail marketer Netcentives will have a new chief financial officer and a new chairman, following two resignations Wednesday.
Chairman West Shell III has resigned, though Netcentives did not disclose the reason.
CFO Jack Longinotti, who also held the chief operating officer post, left the company to pursue other opportunities, according to Netcentives. Gene Meken will take over the post until a permanent replacement is found.
The changes come just a little over one month after Shell stepped down as chief executive officer in favor of president Eric Larsen.
Dole Foods Launches Web Loyalty Program
Dole Food Company aims to boost customer loyalty by offering consumers spending money at retailers for each purchase they make.
The program, powered by private-label incentive marketer SoftCoin, Inc., rewards customers for buying specially-marked “Fruit Bowls” four-packs in offline supermarkets and convenience stores. Each package contains a unique code entitling them to $10 to spend at one of seven online retailers, and Dole said it’s including the promotion on “tens of millions” of Fruit Bowls.
E-tailers Art.com, Cooking.com, KBkids.com, StacksandStacks.com, StyleShopDirect.com and SunglassHut.com have signed up to redeem the points.
Consumers activate their codes at Dole’s Web site, where they first create an account for the promotion and deposit their codes.
Flair Communications Agency is overseeing the effort.
Silverpop Debuts Rich Media E-mail Offering
Atlanta-based Silverpop Systems this week unveiled its streaming rich media e-mail campaign software.
The package, called Campaign, provides an all-in-one solution for rich media e-mail messages’ creation, distribution and reporting. It also includes functions like automated list management, personalization, bulk mailing and tracking.
Additionally, because Silverpop’s rich media technology is streamed in when a user opens the e-mail, average message size is kept small, around three to seven kilobytes.
The firm said it would sell Campaign for an annual license fee, or marketers could purchase a certain number of e-mail messages to be sent through the service.
Silverpop also said in the coming weeks that it debut a new version of Campaign that allows streaming PowerPoint presentations. That product, aimed at sales people, currently is in beta testing.
