Responsys Gets More Dough, Changes Management
Palo Alto, CA-based Responsys, Inc. has closed an additional $5 million in funding from RSA Ventures and Foundation Capital. This comes on top of the $20 million it received recently from Accel Partners, Foundation Capital, Redpoint Ventures and Sigma Partners.
The company also announced changes to its management team.
Responsys co-founder Raghu Raghavan was promoted to chief technology officer, and will oversee the company’s technology strategy and direction. And Virendra Vase, formerly vice president of engineering for AdKnowledge, a division of Engage, Inc., is Responsys’ new chief information officer, and vice president of engineering and operations. He will lead the development of existing and new products, Web operations, and engineering.
The two will both report to Responsys chief executive officer and president, George Wiedemann, who expressed confidence in the new appointments.
“Raghu and Virendra are a powerful team — both have formidable experience developing software products for leading organizations,” said Wiedemann. “Raghu’s technological expertise has guided Responsys to its leadership position in the industry, and Virendra is well-prepared to execute on our vision for pioneering products and services that enable companies to make the most of their customer relationships.”
