Industry Standard Hires Modem Media

The San Francisco office of Modem Media. Poppe Tyson has been
retained by The Industry Standard Web services group to spearhead the
addition of new services and design for TheStandard.com.

The Industry Standard, a destination site for services and information on the
Internet economy, plans to build database-driven functionality into the site
allowing for personalization features, improved customer service, dynamic
payment processing, and enhanced communications with visitors and vendors.

Billings were not disclosed.

“The Standard selected Modem Media for its strategic thinking and creative,
technology integration capabilities and understanding of individual online
relationships across an e-business, including Web site, e-mail and
advertising,” said John Battelle, CEO of The Industry Standard.

Modem Media clients have included 3M, Citibank, Delta Air Lines, E*Trade,
IBM, JC Penney, John Hancock, Sony Computer Entertainment of America,
Unilever and Women.com.
