Keynote Systems Inc. in San Mateo, CA
has signed an agreement with mediaWays GmbH of Gutersloh, Germany to
offer the Keynote Perspective Web site performance measurement service in
Europe.

As part of the agreement, mediaWays will also install and manage Perspective
software measurement agents in key cities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland,
and Eastern Europe, allowing companies there to measure and compare the
performance of their sites from several key user locations in Europe as well
as from Keynote’s existing 39 measurement locations in the United States.

In addition, U.S. Web sites will gain access to performance measurements from
the new European measurement locations deployed by mediaWays. Financial
terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Keynote operates a worldwide network of 45 customizable software measurement
agents that are connected to the Internet in 35 metropolitan areas on a
variety of backbones. Every 15 minutes, these agents measure how long it
takes to access and download Web pages using the Netscape and Microsoft
browsers. The data can be of use to advertisers that want to know how
quickly their ads pop.

mediaWays, a joint venture of Bertelsmann AG, the world’s
third-largest media conglomerate, and debis Systemhaus, the
services company of Daimler-Benz, is the second-largest Internet service
provider in Germany.
