Germany’s Deutsche Telekom AG said it
signed a deal with Microsoft to put
advertising on the home page of its T-
Online Internet service.
Telekom said in a statement that Microsoft would insert an ad button on T-
Online’s home page, bringing in revenues of over 10 million marks ($5.5
million) for the one-year duration of the deal, according to Reuters.
“Our cooperation will open a new dimension on the German-speaking Internet.
Until now, there has only been Internet advertising on this scale in the
USA,” said Telekom’s chief of global systems business Herbert May.
