Atlanta-based ISP MindSpring, aiming to reach those not
already online, and
Jacor Radio stations plan to launch a promotion in May that will give away 16
Harley-Davidson 883 motorcycles.
The promo is called the MindSpring Harley Days of May, a three-week mass
market promotion.
Starting May 3, listeners of Jacor’s 23 radio stations throughout the country
will have the chance to call-in to win a brand new Harley-Davidson 883
motorcycle.
“This Harley promotion is perfect for `driving’ home the message that we are a fun and
different kind of company unlike any other Internet business. As the Internet
becomes more and more mainstream, it’s not just the technically savvy that
are cruising the information highway anymore,” said Nikki Nickerson, MindSpring Media and Promotions director.
The MindSpring Harley Days of May promotion is the first in a series designed
to “consumerize” the MindSpring brand, the company said. Spending was not
disclosed. Additional branding tools include the roll-out of television
advertising in late 1999.
