Organic to Redesign E/Town Consumer Electronics Site

Home electronics guide E/Town, a source for consumer electronics information on the Internet, signed a site redesign and rebranding partnership
deal with Organic.

In addition to a contract to re-design the site, the partnership includes an
undisclosed equity investment on Organic’s behalf. E/Town said it will work
with Organic to rebuild and rebrand its site to further its evolution into a
full-service e-commerce destination. Billings were not disclosed.

“Organic’s industry-wide reputation speaks for itself. They understand what
consumers need in order to navigate in the fast-paced online environment,”
said Robert Heiblim, E/Town CEO. “Their strategic approach, insight and design
expertise will ensure ‘E/Towners’ have the best consumer electronics content-
based information and purchasing options literally just one click away.”

As part of its expansion, E/Town also formed strategic alliances with
major retail outlets nationwide, including One Call and Tweeter, as well as
online video seller Reel.com.

Organic offers expertise in: strategic marketing and technology consulting;
online advertising and promotions development; media planning and placement;
research services and facilities; user interface design and turnkey production
services; software development; and Web site operations. Other clients include
barnesandnoble.com, Music Boulevard, Corbis, Gateway, Starbucks and Levi
Strauss
.

E/Town was launched in January 1996 by longtime consumer electronics reporters
David Elrich, Mark Fleischmann, Ron Goldberg, Harry Somerfield and Stewart
Wolpin. The site contains news, features and columns, new products, new
reviews, a searchable BuyGuide, a library containing thousands of articles and
reviews, a weekly poll on consumer electronics issues, and a consumer
electronics message board.
