Staples Signs Advertising Pact With Yahoo!

Office supply retail chain Staples Inc., which just launched Staples.com to attract more small business
customers, signed an advertising and marketing pact with Yahoo! and said it
will become the largest office-supply seller on the Yahoo site.


Staples said its Web retail operation offers about 6,000
items, and free next-day delivery in most of the U.S. for purchases over $50.
Financial terms of the deal with Yahoo! were not disclosed.


“We’ve built our business by delivering quality and convenience,” Thomas G.
Stemberg, Staples’ chief executive, said in a statement. “Now we’re bring that
philosophy and expertise online.”
