Australian software developer Lizard Research has signed a global distribution and marketing agreement with e-business solutions provider Unisys, to bundle and supports Lizards software with its own offerings.

Under the agreement, Unisys will provide Lizards AdLizards software, which lets advertisers create and submit display advertisements over the Internet.

Unisys will develop a support Web site for AdLizard, which will be part of its global publishing solutions, as well as establish a marketing campaign and dedicated sales team for the tool.

AdLizard will be targeted at large newspapers, publishing groups and advertising agencies, and allows a client to create mono or four color display advertisement artwork based on templates that reside in the publications server.

“They dont need to invest in any special equipment to be able to utilize this resource,” said Unisys South Pacific director of publishing, Kevin Delaney. “All they need is a browser.”

The current process of creating advertisements for and delivering them to publications can be difficult for creators to make changes to creative and caters more to trained graphic artists. Lizard maintains its solution places the creative capability back with the client, and eases the creative development and delivery process.

“AdLizard allows the creative and quality element of this process to reside with the advertiser, but the newspaper retains control by establishing the relevant templates,” Delaney said.

The NT-based AdLizard is driven by a series of styles and templates, and guides users through ad creation using the product’s database and Adobe’s InDesign composition engine. Completed ads are delivered as Adobe EPS or Acrobat files.

Lizard managing director Brian Anderson said the software also had Application Service Provider-model possibilities for publishing single-page documents.
