Amazon.com launched a holiday advertising
campaign with five television ads using a “Variety Show” format that it hopes
will convey the ease and simplicity of online shopping.

The campaign was created by the San Francisco office of FCB Worldwide.

Spending was not disclosed.

The ads use a men’s chorus singing original songs and was “designed to
recreate the authentic look and feel of a 1970s ‘Variety Show,'” using
“simplicity, humor and catchy tunes to leave a smile on customers faces,”
Amazon said.

The advertising focuses on the wide selection of gifts — especially toys —
available on Amazon and the simplicity of shopping online.
The ads debuted on ABC’s “Monday Night Football” and will continue on
broadcast and cable networks over the next six weeks.
