Yahoo! launched a promotional taxicab in San
Francisco, complete with Web access via a laptop computer.

In conjunction with the Luxor Cab Co. and the City of San Francisco Taxicab
Commission, a purple and yellow Yahoo!-wrapped taxi is now in service. Web
access is via Ricochet Wireless Modem
and Internet Service.

There are no additional fares or fees associated
with the Yahoo!-wrapped taxi or onboard Internet access.

“Our goal has always been to make Yahoo! available from anywhere, at any
time,” said company spokesperson Luanne Calvert. “As part of Yahoo!
Everywhere, we are committed to distributing Yahoo! services through a range
of traditional and non-traditional vehicles.”

The Yahoo!-wrapped taxi in San Francisco will feature taxi-top signage
promoting an upcoming Yahoo! Charity Auction to benefit the San Francisco
AIDS Foundation.
