Intel Wednesday launched an initiative with the help of NetSol Technologies to help companies lease computer servers based on its processors.

Starting with its interests in Pakistan, the chip-making giant said it is working with high-end hardware, software and IT solutions providers to craft its Intel Solution Blueprints. Calabasas, Calif.-based NetSol said its wholly owned subsidiary is the first on board in the area.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Intel to create a world-class
blueprint for the leasing and finance industry. With this blueprint in
place, deployment will become even faster and smoother for our customers,”
said NetSol Technologies president Salim Ghauri.

The partnership focuses on NetSol’s ‘LeaseSoft’ leasing and financing
platform. The suite of four applications is designed and developed to cater
to companies with complex assets, supply chain and distribution structures.

LeaseSoft customers include DaimlerChrysler Services Asia Pacific, which
has implementations in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South
Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. LeaseSoft’s wholesale finance system
(LeaseSoft.WFS) is also successfully running at Yamaha Motors Finance
Australia.

Already in use in some industries, Intel Solution Blueprints address
vertical markets such as financial services, telecommunications and digital
media. Intel expects to publish hundreds of Intel Solution Blueprints for
application software, middleware, operating systems, platform and hardware
specifications, including recommendations for those that use its Xeon and
Itanium processor families.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company said its blueprints are tested and
tuned at a firm’s facilities or in Intel e-Business labs co-located at
original equipment manufacturers and integrator sites.

“Coming together as key industry players, we are developing proven
enterprise server solution recommendations that provide what companies are
asking for most — cost-effective solutions that are fast to configure and
tailored to individual business needs,” said Intel Pakistan Country Manager
Kamil Hasan.

Integrators and providers working with Intel on this endeavor include
Accenture, BEA Systems, CGEY, Deloitte Consulting, EDS, Hewlett-Packard,
IBM, iFlex, MSC.Software, Ness, Oracle, Paradigma, Questra, SAS, SHS
Multimedia, Stellcom and Triaton.
