Asian wireless ISP hardware provider Gemtek Systems (actually headquartered in the Netherlands) and Swedish hotspot management provider Aptilo Networks today announced a cross-marketing and technical partnership.
The two companies will enure that the Gemteck P-560 hotspot-in-a-box and G-6000 gateway products work seamlessly with the Aptilo hotspot management platform.
Last year Aptilo made a major in road to Asia with a say to Malaysia. The company is also big in Europe and is also working on expansion in the Middle East as well as North America, where it has an office in Dallas. Earlier this month the company released a new version of its open platform for public access wireless systems.
Gemtek, a spin-off of Taiwanese Gemtek Technologies, has made a splash providing wireless hotspots in areas of the People’s Republic of China. Gemtek’s deal with Aptilo is not exclusive, as they’re also a partner with Pronto Networks in that company’s “Pronto Compatible” program which makes products interoperable with Pronto’s operational support systems (OSS) for hotspots.
Gemtek and Aptilo will demonstrate system interoperability next week in London at the Wireless LAN Event.
