U.K. Handheld vendor Psion Monday announced it has started a new service company to install and manage wireless local area networks (WLANs).

The new company, called Signa Services, is an outgrowth of Psion’s Teklogix division, which focuses on WLANs. Psion acquired Teklogix International in 2000.

“The rapid growth in the market for WLAN solutions shows that major corporations worldwide recognize the benefits of wireless networking to their business,” said Joe Musgrave, Signa’s vice president and general manager.
