Now that there are Palm units out with built in Wi-Fi , it’s time to get those handhelds online. Enter Wayport .

The provider of wired and wireless Internet access in over 500 hotels and 10 airports has entered an agreement with Palm for co-marketing. Purchasers of the Tungsten C handheld — which uses 802.11b for connecting to wireless LANs — can get a 30-day free trial to access any of Wayport’s wireless or wired spots. Typical Wayport connections cost $29.95 a month with a one year agreement, $49.95 a month with no agreement, or $9.95 per day in hotels and $6.95 per day in airports.

During the trial, Tungsten C users will also get 25% off charges when using Wayport’s 15 Laptop Lane business centers, which are found in airports around the United States. Six of the airports have Wayport’s Wi-Fi access: Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin-Bergstrom, LaGuardia, Seattle-Tacoma, San Jose, and Oakland.

Wayport and Palm will cross-promote each others products and services on their Web sites and e-mail newsletters as part of the deal.
