Oracle Offers New Identity Management Suite

As a company that provides access to so many different kinds of data stores, it’s just as important for Oracle to provide some means of protection to those data stores. eSecurity Planet reports that the database giant has updated its identity management software, with an emphasis on simplification of management, especially when it comes to cloud management.


Oracle said its new Identity Management 11g software released this week offers developers “radically simplified” application security in a package of shared services that covers identity administration and password management, authentication, workflow and auditing.

Recognizing the growing enterprise interest in cloud computing, Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) said the new software’s services-based architecture easily extends to cloud environments and provides a single point of control for applications, whether they are housed on-premises or in the cloud.
