Omaha-based Ameritrade Inc. signed a partner deal
with United Airlines that will give new online brokerage customers 2,500
Mileage Plus frequent flyer club miles and 10 commission-free Internet equity
trades to use in the first month.

United has been aggressively pursuing Internet business opportunities and is
a founding partner in Orbitz the new travel Web site (now in beta)
founded by American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United Airlines.

Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed. Ameritrade is a
subsidiary of Ameritrade Holding Corp.

“This exciting new partnership expands the scope of mileage earning
opportunities for our members who take advantage of Ameritrade’s numerous
consumer benefits,” said Scott Praven, president of United Networks.

New Ameritrade customers can open a cash account with an initial deposit of
$500 ($2,000 for margin accounts).

In addition to earning miles through flights on United, Mileage Plus club
members can earn miles with other United business partners, including credits
card companies, long distance telephone calls, grocery purchases, online
stock trading, dining at partner restaurants and shopping at partner stores.
