Arrow Pharmacy & Nutrition Centers launched a new online pharmacy, familymeds.com, offering specialized,
one-on-one pharmacy and nutrition services and advice.
“Our new online pharmacy was created to match, as much as possible, the
patient interaction and education customers experience in our stores,” said
Arrow President and CEO Ed. A. Mercadante.
“We wanted to give those customers
who prefer to make purchases over the Internet an equally satisfying
experience. The key is duplicating the personal touch you get from dealing
with qualified, informed pharmacists who can answer your questions and offer
guidance.”
The site features a team of pharmacists, who will be available via phone and
e-mail 24 hours a day to answer customer questions and make recommendations.
The site also helps customers find detailed answers in “health clinics,”
pages with information and advice on 59 specific health conditions.
Earlier this year, the company received a $25 million capital infusion from a
group of private investors, and is using the majority of the funding to
acquire and open an estimated 60 new pharmacy outlets in the next 12 to 18
months, as well as to launch familymeds.com.
Currently, Arrow operates 71 stores in supermarkets, hospital and retail
settings in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maine and
Michigan.
