Search operation Ask Jeeves Inc. launched its Webwide Navigation
Services, a suite of popularity-based Web navigation products designed to
help its clients increase e-commerce and advertising revenue by connecting
targeted customers with online merchants and advertisers.
The services include Jeeves Popularity Search, Jeeves Directory Search and
Jeeves Compare, an online shopping comparison app. Initial clients include
Go2Net, Lycos Europe and MSN.
“For companies focused on increasing e-commerce and advertising revenue
online, Ask Jeeves now provides an effective, customer-driven suite of
products,” said Rob Wrubel, chief executive officer of Ask Jeeves (ASKJ).
“With the addition of Webwide
Navigation Services, Ask Jeeves has an extensive distribution network
reaching more than 65 percent of today’s online customers.”
Jeeves Popularity Search provides sites with a search service that encourages
customer loyalty, the company said. It utilizes patented popularity
technology that reflects the collective experience of millions of Web
searchers to increase the relevancy of search results.
Jeeves Compare provides online customers with a popularity-based, comparison
shopping service. Jeeves Directory Search incorporates the experience of
millions of
Internet users who navigate the Open Directory Project information base to
provide the relevant search results.
Jeeves Shopping ranks more than two
million products online for Internet-wide searches, and ranks specific
products based on popularity, price and merchant.
