PSINet
Tuesday extended its Jyra In-Site
monitoring service to its centers in Europe and the United States.

First used successfully by PSINet in the U.K., Jyra is a Web and
e-commerce performance assessment solution. PSINet is now carrying it
across to its hosting centers in Amsterdam, Holland and Herndon,
Virginia.

The purpose of Jyra is to identify when poor performance of
e-commerce sites begins to affect revenue. Critical times are
peak periods when willing purchasers are turned away because
Web servers or other parts of the e-commerce infrastructure
are overloaded.

Moos Bulder, PSINet’s European vice president, Application and
Web Services, said that performance and responsiveness of critical Web,
network and database processes at peak times is crucial for online
success.”

“Jyra adds value to our customers using our hosting and connectivity
which allows them to stay ahead of their competition,” said Bulder.

Among the performance information gathered by Jyra in-Site are
the time it takes to purchase online at peak periods and the
relative performance of key components within the purchasing
system.

Developed by Jyra Research Inc., Jyra is designed to pinpoint
problem areas, enabling e-commerce operators to improve their
systems and maximize their revenues.
