E-commerce portal provider Epicentric Inc. signed a partner deal
with Loudcloud Inc., a provider of Internet
Infrastructure services, that will enable Loudcloud to resell Epicentric’s
portal solutions.

The companies said that the agreement offers customers a unified package that
“combines best of breed back-end and front-end services for fast growth
Internet business initiatives.” Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

Loudcloud provides outsourced infrastructure services for deploying,
managing, monitoring and ensuring peak performance of Web sites with a 100
percent scheduled uptime guarantee. Epicentric provides customized portals
and portal networks that
integrate personalized content, services and applications within any IT
environment.

“Loudcloud conducted hands-on testing of the Epicentric Portal Server and we
were impressed by the superior performance and scalability it offers for
doing business on the Internet,” said Ben Horowitz, president and CEO of
Loudcloud.

Epicentric’s portal network solution enables any end user to create,
customize and
publish an enterprise class portal directly from a Web browser. Loudcloud’s
Smart Cloud services encompass a suite of software, hardware, network and
operations infrastructure — including procuring, architecting, and managing
these core components — as a turn-key service, connected by Loudcloud’s
proprietary Opsware automation technology.
