In its ongoing effort to bring customized tools to the Web, BroadVision Inc. Tuesday rolled out
a personalized customer electronic bill delivery and payment
application.
Dubbed One-to-One Billing, the newest offering in the BroadVision (BVSN)
family makes it possible for companies to deliver personalized bills to customers and receive payment from them online.
It also allows customers to manage their accounts, payment methods and
subscribed products and services. The bill presentment
features of the product enable one-to-one relationships with clients while
reducing the costs associated with customer care and
paper-based billing. Other key application features include: customer
self-enrollment/registration, review of current and previous bill summaries,
details and payments and scheduled bill payments using credit cards or
direct debit.
One-to-One billing features a data extraction app, which lets billers
construct simple routines to update data from the customer’s bills and other
legacy sources such as account or subscribed product databases.
“One-To-One Billing appeals to many industries, and we’ve already seen a
keen interest in this technology from our current
telecommunications, utilities, retail and business commerce customers,” said
Simon King, vice president of product management for
BroadVision Inc.
Electronic billing systems have been hot markets in the past year, with
players such as Yahoo Inc. and CheckFree Corp. inking major deals to
increase consumers’ online billing presence. Last December, CheckFree (CKFR)
grabbed billing software BlueGill Technologies for $250 million in the hopes
of marketing an e-billing product suite. The previous week, CheckFree and
Yahoo (YHOO)
extended their co-branded online bill-payment service to let customers view
their billing data.
