Broderbund Partners With Release Software for ESD

Release Software said it has signed an Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) agreement with Broderbund Software Inc.


The agreement will allow consumers to receive the latest education,
entertainment, home, productivity, and business titles from Broderbund and
Parsons Technology, a Division of Broderbund, through Release’s reseller
network, which includes more than 100 points of sale on the Web.


Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.


Consumers will have immediate access to boxed Broderbund titles including
Carmen Sandiego Word Detective, Riven: The Sequel to Myst, and Where in Time
is Carmen Sandiego. All Parson Technology titles will be distributed
electronically on the Internet and include the Quicken Business and Law
Series, Address Book v5.0 and Personal Home Inventory.


In addition to distribution services, Release will also provide ESD packaging,
security and Clearinghouse services as well as marketing and merchandising
programs for both boxed and ESD titles.
