Buy.com Opens New Music Store

Aliso Viejo, CA-based Internet retailer Buy.com opened a new online music
store featuring the Billboard Top 200 single-disc CDs for $9.95.

Buymusic.com, now one of six Buy.Com
specialty stores, incorporates expanded features such as sound clips,
customer reviews, music recommendations and new releases as well as an
enhanced customer support program geared toward making ordering online
hassle-free.

Shoppers can choose from more than 180,000 titles within 14 different
categories,
including Pop/Rock, Alternative, Electronica, Heavy Metal, R&B/Soul,
Rap/Hip/Hop, Jazz/Blues, Classical, Country, Folk, World, New Age,
Soundtracks and Children’s.

“This announcement heralds Buy.com’s entrance into the music distribution
channel, and solidifies our commitment to providing the lowest prices on
popular products online,” said Gregory Hawkins, chief executive officer of
Buy.com.

The company said customers have instant access to Buy.com representatives on
24-hour basis, including live I-mail responses for instant online
communication regarding product information, order status, service and
returns.

Founded in October 1996, Buy.com serves as a portal to six specialty
stores that offer popular consumer goods, including books, computers,
software, videos and games.
